The coverage number is one turnover

One air change means a theoretical volume of filtered air equal to the room volume over an hour; it does not mean every particle is removed once or air mixes perfectly.

A useful room screen is:

If a verified smoke CADR were 220 cubic feet per minute, an eight-foot ceiling and five turnovers would support roughly 330 square feet: 220 × 60 ÷ (8 × 5). Sensors improve response, not pollutant identification

Shark says the system scans 3,600 times per hour and uses particle, VOC, motion, and light information to adjust operation. Motion can raise airflow when activity may disturb particles; light sensing can dim the display; the LCD shows air quality, VOC, temperature, humidity, and trends.

The display is useful for change. It is not a laboratory instrument, mold test, carbon-monoxide alarm, radon detector, medical monitor, or proof that an odor is harmless. A VOC category cannot identify a chemical or establish a safe exposure. Keep required alarms installed, ventilate combustion and solvent sources, and address leaks or mold at the source.

Automatic response can create noise. UrbanGeekz found the interface direct and high-speed reaction more noticeable. Test motion response, sleep behavior, and schedules in the intended room during the return window.

Particle cleaning is the main job

Choose smaller for a bedroom or office that does not need this footprint. Choose multiple correctly sized units when closed rooms need independent circulation. Choose a unit with a larger verified carbon bed when gas adsorption is central. A purifier is not a humidifier, dehumidifier, air conditioner, or substitute for source repair.
